The newly renovated event venue at the heart of Builth Wells

The Strand Hall was originally built for the people of Builth Wells in 1903. If it's walls could talk, it would be imbued with the history of this town, from celebrations to concerts and even barking mad YFC productions. This was a very important place to meet for the peoples of this area. The Strand was at the heart of the community until it closed.

We are delighted to announce that following a full refurbishment with installation of disabled access and state of the art technology, the Strand Hall is re-opened and once again available for hire. We sincerely hope this proud, old building finds it way back to the heart of the community.

"Finem Respice"

The latin motto of the strand hall, meaning "consider the end" or "consider the consequences of your actions". This can be found on the coat of arms above the entrance to the building. Find out more in the history section.

A message from the Mayor

It is with great pleasure that we can now announce that the Strand Hall has been re-opened. Many organisations, residents and volunteers have worked tirelessly to ensure this proud old building has been restored in a way that will benefit the community for generations to come.

The motto is very appropriate to Builth

If it wasn’t for the Strand, I wouldn’t be here now.
